10 Amazingly Fit But Fat Athletes

Fit and fat are two words that don’t traditionally go together. However in the instances of these athletes, the two terms go well together and still enable them to work well as professionals. Here we take a look at those who are in fact fit but fat.

1. Shaquille O’Neal: He’s probably one of the most recognized and celebrated basketball players of all times. He’s been in the game longer than others, and he’s had some major accomplishments in the process. He also happens to be a very fit but unconventionally overweight player. This helps to add to what makes him unique and definitely somebody that we can’t stop watching in the game.

2. Phil Mickelson: As a golfer he can play an amazing game. Not that golf was ever considered to be a game made only for the fit and thin, but he happens to boast an overweight frame within that fit physique. Regardless he can still play a mean game of golf!

3. Prince Fielder: His name is well known in the baseball world, as is his frame. Though he is fit enough to play well within baseball, he definitely isn’t the thinnest player out there. The excess pounds have nothing to do with his ability to play the game, so he’s a definite must for this list.

4. John Daly: A golfer with a reputation helps to drum up a bit of PR for the game of golf, and that’s where this player steps in. His reputation is as strong as his game of golf, and he is definitely not well known for his thin frame. He is a partier by nature and though he is certainly fit enough to be a professional athlete, nobody would ever call him thin.

5. Charles Barkley: He brought something fun and different to the game of basketball and that’s why he had to appear on this list. He was always strong and fit, running the court up in flames. He was always a bit on the heavier side though, so it almost seemed to be a conflict right there in front of you.

6. Tony Gwynn: His record spoke for itself when he played the game of baseball. He was and still is a celebrated player which makes him an excellent athlete overall. He broke records and though he was always fit, he was certainly not lean at all.

7. Kirby Puckett: He is gone and missed, but his stellar record with the Minnesota Twins for decades made him an amazing baseball player. He was never thin, but was certainly fit which you could tell as he rounded the bases. He was an amazing player, but it always seemed a bit unusual that he carried extra weight in spite of his fit and athletic build.

8. JaMarcus Russel: Playing for the Oakland Raiders, he is known for being a big guy. He plays the game, he’s tough, and he’s a competitor—all of that is true. He is however a large man, nobody will ever call him thin. This may lend well though into his ability to be a remarkable football player.

9. Brandon Jacobs: The New York Giants are proud to have him as part of the team, and why not? He can play and he’s an asset to the team! One thing he is however not is little; though in this game being bigger can actually be a plus.

10. Langston Walker: Weighing in at a whopping 366 pounds, this Buffalo Bills player is one of the largest in the league. His big stature happens to make him an amazing player, so being fat can actually work in his favor for the game of football.

Who would have ever thought that you could be fat but yet fit? These players show that being a professional athlete isn’t always about fitting the conventional mold. They prove that being a bit overweight doesn’t make them any less qualified in their profession.
